2 A Brief Overview What is 3D Printing ? A Short History
Different Methods of 3D Printing Ethicality Involving Safety Ethicality Involving Intellectual Property

3 What is 3D Printing ? 3D printing is done through additive manufacturing. Objects are loaded in through various files (CAD files being the most notable.) Objects are built from the bottom up. Many Materials can be used at this time.

4 A Short History Originally know as rapid prototyping.
The first recorded instance failed to gain recognition due to patent issues. (Dr. Kodama 1980) Charles Hull patents his machine in 1989 and found 3D Systems Corporation. In 1989 Scott Crump patents Fused Deposition Modeling and co-founds Stratasys. In 2007 the first 3D printer for under dollars is produced and the idea of open source printing spreads. 2009 sees the first publicly available 3D printer.

5 Different Methods of 3D Printing
Stereo-Lithography Laser Sintering Fused Deposition Modeling

6 Ethicality Involving Safety
Virtually Impossible to Enforce Safety Regulations. Guns can be crafted in the home. Jerks do exist in the world by the way.

7 Ethicality Involving Intellectual Property
Many products can be easily reverse engineered. Small tweaks to existing designs can be made to dance around the law.
