The mission of The Security Network is
to advance U.S. security by “Fostering Innovation Through Collaboration” on a national level. The non-profit, non-partisan Security Network will promote rapid commercialization of dual usage security technologies and development of effective regional security. 7-May-19

The Security Network is a 501c3 Nonprofit
Goals Promote the development of dual use security technologies. Assist in the development of a broad regional security strategy and plan. Operate as a “national test bed” through receipt of grants. Develop and maintain a national data base of company and university security technologies. Serve as a organizer of the annual Security Summit as well as other regularly schedule meetings, and events. 7-May-19

Advisory Committee Purpose: (1) Set top level strategies and priorities for The Security Network (2) Assist in the creation and operation of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) (3) Provide key contacts and relevant information to The Security Network Membership: (1) Executives from military and federal, state and local government agencies with key role in national security (2) Executives from sponsoring large and small businesses with interest in pursuing business in the security field (3) Executives from universities with interest in developing either management or new technologies which could benefit national security Plan: (1) Government membership to grow with added SIGs (2) Meeting planned every 90 days 7-May-19

Purpose: (1) Create strategies for improved security within the focus area. (2) Pursue grants in order to demonstrate incremental improvements within the focus area for national benefit. (3) Host key industry and government speakers which bring value to the WG Membership: (1) Government agencies with strong interest and need within this focus area. (2) Industry with capabilities and interest in this area. Management: Government / Industry Co-chairs 7-May-19

Criteria for Selection Current on-going Efforts established Strong National/Regional Interest Potential for Additional Grants Recommendations Port Security Current on-going effort by Harbor Police, Coast Guard, Navy and Industry Interest in formalization of collaboration by existing groups Potential for additional funding First Responder Strong interest by City to increase capabilities City has applied $2.5m grant funding for near term testing of technologies Excellent synergy with other SIGs Transportation Security Focus on Maritime/Land Transportation with additional support to airport Maritime/Land has been identified as major shortfall in security Strong synergy with Other SIGS Strong working relationship with TSA in Washington and locally through CCAT 7-May-19

Special Purpose Grants from DHS proposed separately from normal allocations of UASI or DHS Grant Programs. Grants from Tech Transfer Programs at DHS and DoD. Top Level Grant as recognition as National Test Bed. Congressional Earmarks 7-May-19
