ATTENTION-DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD) A disorder characterised by inattention, and hyperactive and impulsive behaviour that is more frequent and severe than other children of the same Inattention – easily distracted Hyperactive – very restless, have excessive energy Impulse control – Act before they think These must be present for sixth months before a diagnosis can be made KK 4 - PAGE

EATING DISORDERS A general term used to describe any disorder involving a severe disturbance in eating behaviour Anorexia Nervosa = An eating disorder that involves persistent refusal to maintain body weight at or above a normal level, intense fear of weight gain, a distorted perception of body image, the absence of menstruation and extreme concern with body shape and weight Both physiological and psychological factors are thought to play a role in the development of anorexia KK 4 - PAGE
