1 1140 Early Years @ Bridge of Allan Nursery Parent Information Session

2 Transformative Change
Early learning and childcare in Scotland is undergoing transformative change Double the funded entitlement to 1140 hours by 2020 Free ELC has two main policy aims: to improve outcomes for children and to support parents (particularly mothers) into employment We are ambitious for our children and for improving, developing and modernising the way we deliver our service Significant change is required and we will work closely to engage and support all stakeholders in the change process

3 Phased roll out Phasing by learning community
To include Funded Providers (nurseries and childminders) Phase 1 from August 2018 ( Bannockburn and 1 in McLaren) Phase 2 from August 2019 (Wallace, Stirling, McLaren) Phase 3 from August 2020 (Balfron, Dunblane)

4 Four operating models Operating Model Summary Operating Weeks 48.2
45.6 38 Open Hours Bridge of Allan Nursery will be operating 45.6 hour model.

5 Funded sessions for parents
25 hours of funded ELC over 45.6 weeks A full day session will be 10 hours (8.00 am to 6.00 pm) Half day sessions will be 5 hours Morning (8.00am to 1.00pm – to include lunch) Afternoon (1.00pm to 6.00pm) 5 x 5 hour sessions per week in any combination

6 Flexibility Will my child have to attend for the full session?
Placement can be split with funded providers e.g. childminders or other authorised nurseries Your child does not have to attend full 10 hour or 5 hour session and you do not have to use all of your funded entitlement. It will be up to you to decide if you want to take less than 1140 hours. You can also choose when, within the session times, you drop off and pick up your child however, we would ask that morning/full day children are dropped off by 9am. Equally if you intend to pick up before 4pm, please let the nursery know.
