1 He’s Blind for a Reason, You Know?

2 Why is he blind? The blind archetype is used to symbolize realization and discovery, or the lack thereof. A blind character is usually able to see what those who are not blind cannot see. They will usually either have strength, or lack it, depending on the message to be delivered. Chirrut Imwe from Rogue One is blind. He has greater access to the force than most and has increased fighting abilities. He can foresee events.

3 Vision and Sight in Invisible Man
The narrator characterizes himself as "invisible," in saying "people refuse to see [him]," truly meaning that people do not see him for the person he is, only his skin color. People in society are blind to the truth, that the narrator is the same as everyone else. In chapter 1, at the "Battle Royale," the boys fighting wear blindfolds, which symbolize their powerlessness, especially under the hands of the white men putting them to fight. The blind archetype is mainly used to represent a lack of knowledge or power.
