8th September 2018 Section 20 Notices/Major Works – Payment Options Peter Mair, Recovery & Litigation Manager Scope To identify customer and stakeholder aspirations, ensuring that HfH is able to positively impact on the lives of all of our residents

2 Process You will have received an initial Notice of estimate
However you only need to start paying once we have sent you an invoice This will generally be when works start on site We understand the impact of rising living costs, lifestyle changes and receiving a large invoice A workable solution can usually be found

3 Payment Options The terms of your lease require payment to be made quarterly Range of options up to 72 months interest free Additional time may be available with interest This dependent on invoice value and whether you are resident in the property or not If the invoice is above £10,000 you will need to consent to a charge being placed on your property

4 Difficulty paying/Assistance
Leasehold services have a specialist team of experienced officers They will assess your circumstances and be able to advise you how best to proceed Referral either to a Financial Inclusion Officer, Citizens Advice Bureau, Step change or the Department of work and pensions Your lender may be able to assist w payment We will ‘Hold recovery’ to allow time for solutions 1-1 meetings individually to address complex issues

5 Summary We will proactively chase up resolution of queries with our departments We will attempt to engage with you by all available means if you have not made payment arrangements We only take recovery action where all other options have been exhausted
