2 Relative Clauses (Subject)
Relative clauses start with the relative pronouns WHO, WHICH, and THAT.

3 Relative Clauses (Subject)
who = people which = things that = people or things

4 Relative Clauses (Subject)
Relative clauses are connected to the person or thing that comes before them.

5 Relative Clauses (Subject)
I have a friend who is very artistic. I work at a store that sells video games.

6 Relative Clauses (Subject)
The verb in the relative clause needs to agree in number with the noun in the main clause.

7 Relative Clauses (Subject)
Main Clause Relative Clause I know a guy who speaks many languages. I know some people who speak many languages.

8 Relative Clauses (Subject)
Sometimes, if there is a prepositional phrase, the relative clause connects with the person or thing before the prepositional phrase. There are people in the world who have never traveled abroad. There’s a store around the corner that sells great bread. I sent some money to my sister who lives in America.

9 Relative Clauses (Subject)
In a subject relative clause, we don’t use a personal subject pronoun after which, who, or that. I like people who they are friendly. I like people who are friendly.
