2 What options are available within the field?
Operation Forecasting: can post threats to life and property. Hurricanes, large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Severe weather forecasting is an option too. Aviation Weather: forecasting weather conditions for the commercial airline industry. Broadcast Meteorology: presents weather information on television or radio. They also help teach the public about basic weather terms, such as fog and thunderstorms. Applied Research: involves the practice of applying current weather data and research analysis, to practical problems. Doppler Weather Radar and Public alert warning systems are two types of applied research.

Operation Forecasting~ $54,000 per year Aviation Weather~ $60,016 per year Broadcast Meteorology~ $50,000 per year Applied Research~ $80,582 per year

4 Education or special training requirements?
You will need a four year Bachelor of science degree in meteorology, or Atmospheric science. Some teaching, research, or management positions require a Masters of Science degree. Prospective meteorologists must demonstrate advanced proficiency in physics, calculus, computer science, and atmospheric science.

You need to have good interpretive skills, the ability to undertake precise, and methodical work, good problem solving skills, strong math skills, a knowledge of physics, good oral and written communication skills.

8 My reaction to what I learned while researching
I thought the information given was very useful, and helped me learn more all about the science of weather. I know all about the different types of jobs, natural disasters, salary, and the education you will need to be the best meteorologist in history! I just don’t think I, or anyone can top Alan Seal`s work. So maybe just try to be… a very good meteorologist for right now.
