2 What is Impressionism? A style or movement in painting characterized by a concern with depicting the visual impression of the moment, especially in terms of the shifting effect of light and color. It mostly focuses on scenery, landscapes, and everyday life.

Medium: Oil on Canvas Where: Musée d'Orsay in France What was happening: This work was created during the winter of 1868–1869 near the commune of Étretat in Normandy.
