5 Rules for Producing Questions
1. Ask as many questions as you can 2. Do not stop to answer, judge, or discuss 3. Write down every question exactly as stated 4. Change any statements into questions

6 Question Focus: A: “The first time I used the QFT, some students were resistant.” B: “The first time I shared the QFT, some teachers were resistant.”

7 Producing Questions Ask Questions Follow the Rules Ask as many questions as you can. Do not stop to answer, judge, or discuss. Write down every question exactly as it was stated. Change any statements into questions. Number the Questions Refer to your Q-Focus: A. The first time I used the QFT, some students were resistant. B. The first time I shared the QFT, some teachers were resistant.

Take one closed-ended question and change it into an open-ended question. Take one open-ended question and change it into a closed-ended question. Closed Open Open Closed

9 Prioritizing Questions
Review your list of questions Choose the three questions you consider most important to problem-solve before using the QFT. While prioritizing, think about your Question Focus: A. The first time I used the QFT, some students were resistant. B. The first time I shared the QFT, some teachers were resistant. After prioritizing consider… Why did you choose those three questions?

11 Next Steps: Building a Shared Online Resource
Instructions: As a group, choose 1 priority question to work on. You may choose from your list or the other group’s priority list. Discuss and brainstorm strategies and ideas about how to answer this question. Appoint a note taker who records the group’s ideas on the online tool. Be prepared to share out to the whole group. If you finish early, please move on to another question.
