3 Whisky Galore! A community representation much more cruel and devious towards authority than Passport to Pimlico. Towards an unyielding authority figure – Captain Waggett A celebration of a community affected by war This time the shortage is whisky – essential to the community well being Islanders are initially shown as slow-witted and backward. Later revealed to be wiley and resourceful. Still representative of a desire to be free from social / governmental restrictions Shot on location

7 The Titfield Thunderbolt Critique of motivation by profit Older form of transport (steam train) is under threat by a newer one (bus) Community come together to fend off change A desire for an older style, community life
