2. 2-1- Building Methods 1. Traditional Method
This is developed from the Common and well known method. It depends on handcraft & labor skill (such as woodwork & Brickwork).
Building design and Building implementation are separated. Furthermore, materials are provided by someone else.

Large proportion of the building construction and building components collection done in the site.
The work organization and its nature is well known by the craftsmen and the contractors so that work could be done with less detailed information.
This method is more suitable for small contracts such as houses.

It is also called post- conventional method.
Traditional building method changes With the gradual entrance of new materials and new technology.
This building method is a mixture of the traditional method , in terms of its dependence on handcraft & labor skill, and the new constructional method resulted from the use of new materials.

This method is used in larger projects, & employs more expensive equipments and machine than the traditional method.
It is less flexible than the traditional method because:
Connected with the use of a large number of machines
Large projects needed larger investments

Reasons for the invention of Rational Method:
Increase in size and complexity of buildings and the concomitant complexity in the way of building.
Increase in the demand for various types of buildings.
The need for economy in the work and costs.

This method seeks to build an integrated system for the design and production, resulting in continuity in all phases of work.
Here Work should be planned and programmed, so that the process of building to be in the form of ongoing activity.

Of the means used to reach this goal are:
Standardization.
Pre-manufacturing or pre-cast of building component.
Use mechanical equipment.
The separation of the manufacturing process from the process of aggregation.
The work should be Designed with no overlap in the work of different professions
Thinking of the product during design process.

All building components are designed and produced In the factory Then combined or fixed in place in the building.
No part of certain building systems can be used with other systems parts. (that is why it is called closed system)
Mostly used in schools and Housing projects, and Few other building types.

There should be a Full coordination between the design process and building process.
There is a complete integration and coordination between the factory product and the site work to ensure the continuation of work throughout the assembly period.

The Economical success of the method depends on efficiency of work organization more than the method of producing building parts.
This method is efficient and economical When the production is in large-scale and meet large market demand significantly.

12. 2-1- Building Methods 5- Open System building
This system differs from the closed system:
Production of the components is not limited to one product.
Each component is Subject to the replacement of components manufactured by another product.
Gives more flexibility and freedom in design and components.
Used with more building types.
The design and implementation or product is one process.
