Why are there rainbows?

4. Unit Questions: Where do rainbows come from? What makes a rainbow?
If I walk under the arch of a rainbow, will I come out on the other side?
Is there really a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
Are the same colors in every rainbow?

5. Objectives: The students will identify the colors of the rainbow.
The students will observe and record changes in weather.
The students will be able to recognize where rainbows come from.
The students will be able to demonstrate where a rainbow comes from.

6. Assessment:
The students will make a class rainbow, including the colors of the rainbow and the two sources that influence the making of a rainbow. The colors of the rainbow need to be in the correct order. The students must use their imagination and work as a group.
