2 Galatians 1 If you are a gentile follower of Jesus,
you don’t have to become a Jew, following the Jewish law Some other followers of Jesus disagreed

3 Galatians 2: Godly confrontation
Life isn’t dominated by confrontation (after 14 years) Confrontation is head on (in Jerusalem) supported by friends (Barnabas and Titus) arising from conviction (revelation) With kindness (in private) and clarity (presenting the gospel) and humility (making sure I haven’t run my race in vain) and realism (false believers having power over) and a fear of God (not reputations) and respect (recognising each others’ ministry) and friendship (giving right hand of fellowship) And challenge (“I opposed Cephas to his face”)

4 What is our source of righteousness?
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Luke 18)

5 What is our source of righteousness?
15 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful out of (being) Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified out of works of law, but through (the) faithfulness of Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faithfulness into Christ Jesus so that we may be justified out of (the) faithfulness of Christ and not out of works of law, because out of works of law no body will be justified. Who hears the cry of the barren one? Who breaks the curse of the heart of stone? Who storms the prison and sets men free? Purchasing souls for eternity?

6 We, too, have put our faithfulness into Christ Jesus
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, Your perfect love is casting out fear. And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storm of this life, I won’t turn back; I know You are near. And I will fear no evil, for my God is with me. And if my God is with me, Whom then shall I fear? Whom then shall I fear? Oh no, You never let go, Through the calm & through the storm Oh no, You never let go, In every high and every low. Oh no, You never let go, Lord, You never let go of me. We, too, have put our faithfulness into Christ Jesus so that we may be justified out of (the) faithfulness of Christ

7 We, too, have put our faithfulness into Christ Jesus
And we can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on; A glorious light beyond all compare. And there will be an end to these troubles, But until that day comes, We’ll live to know You here on the earth.

8 is then Christ a servant of sin? Absolutely not!
17 “But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we (Jews) find ourselves also sinners, is then Christ a servant of sin? Absolutely not! 18 If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker. 19 “For through law I died to law so that I might live for God. Being Righteous OUT OF Faithfulness of Jesus Our Faithfulness INTO Jesus Dying to Law THROUGH law Thank God for his written Word to us

9 20I have been crucified with Christ but I live no longer I,
but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in body, I live in the faithfulness of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself above me 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness is through law, Christ died for nothing!” Thank God for his written Word to us Being Righteous OUT OF Faithfulness of Jesus Our Faithfulness INTO Jesus
