3 MISSION STATEMENT The ORCFs mission is to help people living with cancer by providing local residents with increased access to person-centered care through the delivery of the Cancer Coaching Health and Social Care Service, innovative cancer research and a world-class clinical trials program.

4 Fundraising events in the past have included:
ADVOCACY The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation hosts and promotes a wide range of fundraising events every year Some events are planned and run by the foundation itself Some are external organizations or groups of people passionate about the cause The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation regularly partners with major sports organizations in the city Fundraising events in the past have included: Galas Dinners Challenges Sports events Runs

6 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Goals Objectives To raise a minimum of $500
To raise awareness for the services that the organization provides Objectives Partner with a local business to host an event Connect with local businesses to accumulate interesting prizes Source out a busy location to run a successful raffle Use a YouCaring page to collect donations GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

7 Fundraiser - Pub Night We made a total of $170.00 for our Pub Night
Our first fundraiser on November 17th, 2017 It was held at the Whiskey Bar The Whiskey Bar provided us with $5.00 cover tickets to sell We did not have to prepay for the tickets All proceeds went to the ORCF We had little pre-sales due to the strike interference We decided to go to the streets to sell more tickets We made a total of $ for our Pub Night

8 Fundraiser - Raffle Table
We made a total of $423 for our raffle At our raffle table, we had 9 different raffle prizes We sold raffle tickets for 1 ticket for $2, 3 tickets for $5 and 10 tickets for $10 We sold a limited amount of “squares” for our autographed RedBlacks football. Each square was $5.00 All the prizes were drawn at the end of the day Once the winners were picked, we called them to set up a meeting to get them their prizes

9 Fundraising YouCaring Page
Our final fundraiser was connected with our YouCaring page We posted a link to our YouCaring page on our social media accounts Every time someone made a donation to our YouCaring page they would be enter into win 8 Yuk Yuk passes and 2 $25.00 gift cards to SummerHays This draw closed at midnight on December 17th. The remains of our funds were raised through the YouCaring

Individuals Students who donated time and/or money Team members: time, money, determination, passion, compromise Associations & Congregations Student Association Provided space and table for our raffle Institutions Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation Provided support, education, resources Algonquin College Local Economy Local business who donated prizes Physical World The Byward Market To sell tickets for our Pub Night

11 GROUP MEETINGS We had a total of 6 official group meetings regarding the project
October 6, 2017 Decided on the agency we wanted to partner with – Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation Assigned group roles MEETING 2 October 13th, 2017 Created blog and GoFundMe page Connected with the foundation and received a sponsor letter MEETING 3 VISIT TO THE OTTAWA REGIONAL CANCER FOUNDATION October 23, 2017 Received a tour of the facility Meeting With Taylor: Received additional information about foundation fundraising, advocacy, and where the money is used MEETING 4 Online Communication During the 5 weeks of the strike, we continued to connect through Organised Events timeline Planned Pub Night Fundraiser & Sourced out prizes MEETING 5 November 22, 2017 During this meeting we: Discussed Pub Night results Discussed obtained prizes Connected with SA to book a table at Algonquin Discussed Fundraisers MEETING 6 December 1st, 2017 Created a schedule for the raffle table. Created posters for the raffle. Discussed a schedule for the Hoops for cancer. Started to create our powerpoint.

12 END PRODUCT Goals Objectives
WE RASIED A TOTAL OF $700 TOWARDS THE OTTAWA REGION CANCER FOUNDATION END PRODUCT Goals To raise a minimum of $500 To raise awareness for the services of the organization Objectives Partner with a local business to host an event Connect with local businesses to accumulate interesting prizes Source out a busy location to run a successful raffle Use a YouCaring page to collect donations In the end, we believe we reached each of our goals and objectives we set out at the beginning of this project We surpassed our minimum goal and accomplished what we wanted to do
