A preposition is a word that shows a relationship of a noun/pronoun to another word in the sentence.
They help readers with directions, positions, place, time, amounts, and causes.

5. What is a Prepositional Phrase?
A prepositional phrase is a phrase that starts with a preposition and ends with an object (noun/pronoun)
preposition and the word(s) following it
stretches a sentence
can be removed leaving a basic sentence intact
The bench in the park is needed for walkers.
Tip: Remove the prepositional phrase(s) in green and your basic sentence remains.
The bench is needed.

9. INFINITIVES
An infinitive is a verb form that can be used as a noun, an adjective, or an adverb. Most infinitives begin with TO.
TO+ VERB= infinitive
EX: The soccer player TO WATCH this season is Sam Walton.
EX. Prepositions will be easy TO MEMORIZE.

I would like to read an interesting book this summer.
The children want to go to the movies to watch The Lion King.
The beautiful teacher needs to grade some compositions over the weekend.
