2 Collaborative Learning
Collaboration is the “mutual engagement of participants in a coordinated effort to solve a problem together.” Mutual interactions producing elaborated explanations are particularly valuable for improving student learning.

3 Hypothesis Collaborative learning influences student learning.
It is time saving. Helps to reduce students’ fear of expression.

4 A Brief Target Population: Class X students Subject : Physics
Topic: Electricity Traditional Method: Explanation & Demonstration. Innovation Opted: Collaborative Learning

5 Procedure Students were taught the topic in the traditional way and a test was conducted. Next, students were divided into groups. A sub topic was given to each group. Students researched on the given sub-topic. Each group presented their sub-topic to the class. A post-test was conducted. Scores of both the tests were analysed.

10 Highlights of the Intervention
Involvement and interest of the students increased in the class room. Facilitated peer learning. The topics discussed in groups had better retention. Enhanced the communication skills and confidence-level of the students.

11 Findings Collaborative learning had a positive impact on the students.
Good time management. Students became confident and expressed their views freely. Thus proving the hypothesis correct.

12 Student Gains Construction of knowledge by students.
Importance and relevance of team work. Honing of Analytical and Synthesizing skills. Development of Self-learning skills
