2. SYSNOPSIS
SYNOPSIS
All systems in today’s world is being computerized, since there is no wonder that even the management of the examinations and their related functions is being computerized. Thus Examination Management System automates the activities carried around the Examination processes. This includes the automation of Time table of departments, seating arrangement of the students writing the exam. The semi-automated generation of the seating arrangement is a great relief in jobs related to the seating allotment of the students. This system is also highly interactive and is user friendly by consisting a help module.
The various activities carried out by the Examination Management System are as follows.

Examination Time Table details takes care of the Examination Time Tables of the various departments in the college. This stores the Time Table in an interactive way and a module is separately used to view the Examination Time Table in order with their respective departments and semesters.
Seating Arrangement details takes care of the seating problem of the students those are being to write the examination. This contains two separate modules, one for acknowledging the details of the students being to write the examination and the other is to assign the students to the respective halls is a semi-automated system. A separate option is given here such that a particular student’s Hall and examination for an approaching date can be viewed.
A separate module helps in exporting and importing database tables for flexibility, also attractive demo is available with the package.
Enhanced upgradeability, Highly Interactive, attractive demonstration as help,Text editor facility, for easy printing are some of the important features of this project.

4. COLLEGE PROFILE
Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts & Science, a well-known institution, was founded in the year 1989 by a philanthropic society named Coimbatore Welfare Association (CWA). The institution was founded in the 25th anniversary of Coimbatore Welfare Association. The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University and approved by All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The institution has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. It has 9 Under Graduate Departments & 5 Post Graduate Departments.
The Department of Computer Science & Applications was started in the year from that day the glory of the institute & the excellence of the department has led to the present day strength of around 260 students, which is expected to grow in the future. The department has 10 dedicated teaching staff & 4 technical staff for the computer lab. The courses offered under the department are Bachelor of Computer Science & Bachelor of Computer Applications, which runs for a span of three years.

5. ABOUT THE SYSTEM
Examination is a core activity of any educational institution. In Colleges the examinations are carried in the semester method that takes place once in a six months. As the University / C.I.A. examinations arrive, there exists a lot of work like consolidating the Time Table of each departments of the college and the seating arrangement to all the students in the college is a critical task. Thus computerizing these activities plays an important role. Instead of sitting around a Table and searching for student records and University / C.I.A. model Time Table and preparing seating arrangement, that would be done with a few mouse clicks using this system. The consolidated Time Table can be exported for further reference.

6. DRAWBACKS OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM
The existing system is maintained in white sheets. There is no computerized system existing to maintain information. A Examination controller is assigned to take care of all the activities around the examination like Time Table displaying and preparing seating arrangement for the students currently write the respective University / C.I.A. examination. After a successful preparing in the seating arrangement, a clerical work is carried on the prepared one, that is typing the information is a paper using a typewriting machine. The Examination controller has to prepare for the seating arrangement before a week to complete his job successfully. If a information about the appearance of a particular student for the exam is to be identified, here a lot of reference is needed to be done.
