3 Special Projects in Special Edition les Nouvelles Initiated and organized a special edition of les Nouvelles commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Passage of the Bayh-Dole Act, December, New Initiatives: IP “Theme” Weekends Goal: providing forums for Industry, TLOs and National Research Institutes to facilitate identification and discussion on common issues in informal and interactive settings

A reprint of the December, 2006 article by ex-Senator Birch Bayh: Don’t’ Turn Back the Clock, followed by fourteen(14) articles, three of which were from the US with the remainder from the rest of the world covering legislation inspired by the Act Upon invitation of IUGT, AUTM (Ashley Stevens) AIPLA (David Kelly) and the Kauffman Foundation (Sandy Miller), contributed to this effort

Kim and Omer Hiziroglu, Sun gave a presentation on licensing issues and Omer was a session moderator. Together with LES Turkey, IUGT offered LES 100 course, Sun and Omer as instructors

26 IUGT – WIPO “IP Program” Joint Collaboration Project Innovation and Technology Transfer Section University Initiatives, WIPO (Winter, 2011) Joint collaboration project with Innovation and Technology Section of University Initiatives Goal: To provide assistance to WIPO in collaborative efforts to the universities, especially in developing countries, for formulating best practices for commercialization and in developing tools for effective collaboration with industries and turn materials into publication Launch: Q Full details will follow in due course.

27 IUGT - ICC “IP Spring Camp” Joint Collaboration Project IP Commission of ICC (Spring, 2012)
Joint collaboration project with IP Commission of ICC (Paris) Goal: “IP Spring Camp ” is a two-day course that aims at providing a comparative practical overview of the IP- related aspects of the legal systems in Europe, Asia and the United States, focusing on the relationship between university and industry in technology transfer scheme. An annual event with ICC Launch : TBD. Full details will follow in due course.

Materials from the “IP Theme Weekends” Forum to be put into article form for publication in les Nouvelles in order to share output with LESI General Membership Organization of special les Nouvelles edition on “IP and Clean Energy Technologies (CETs)”
