1 Mitch System Control Everyone agrees that the key to reducing or eliminate ‘challenging behaviour’ is to help the individual to communicate their needs – and that’s what Mitch System Control does. It helps with communication and then sends alerts to whoever is supporting that person.

2 Who is the System for? Primarily, for an individual who has autism, a learning disability who presents behaviour that can be regarded as ‘challenging’ and have difficulty in expressing themselves. Can be for individuals who display high levels of anxiety. Older people to monitor their health and wellbeing.

3 WHAT IS MITCH SYSTEM CONTROL (“MitchSC”)?
It’s an early warning system for use at home or for providers. It’s a tool for individuals to flourish. Its also about ‘transforming care’ by putting control back in the hands of individuals and families. A part of the programme is a personal database that provides graphs for analysis – as you will see from the following slides. That visual data can assist parents, families, health professionals to better understand the individual’s behaviour and health needs. Another part of the programme is for families and Personal Care Assistants (“PCAs”). It will send alerts on the individual’s health and wellbeing. Should a Personal Care Assistant leaves the individual’s employment, the data/information stays with the individual. Mitchsc is easy to understand, and the data it provides. When all is said and done - our vision is to recognise the role of families, and others supporting the individual – which should raise the profile of PCAs and encourage more people to become Personal Care Assistants.
