1 You get to pick and choose and experiment with this.
Roll The Dice You get to pick and choose and experiment with this.

2 Ink and Watercolor Pick a topic… ( Containers, Environmental issues, Plants, or a series which Changes…..) Decide how much you are going to want to ink vs. Watercolor. 80% pen 20% watercolor……. 50 /50 … or 80% watercolor and 20% ink. What I am looking for is creativity, clean paper with purposeful inking. Watercolor used when necessary, and over all composition and skill posed at a high level. Does not have to be large in size, but must be a high quality with a SOLID concept and Coposition.

3 It Comes out in the wash.

5 Perspective focused on foreshortening
You must take an original photo which showcases an interesting subject matter, excellent composition, and foreshortening. You can choose the media to execute this in and the size. But preferably this will be as large as you have ever done. (I might suggest charcoal for this). There needs to be a feeling which is showcased through this dramatic composition. Much like the portrait (although this one doesn’t have to be people) it needs to be gridded and done as exactly as possible.

6 It’s all Foreshortened

7 Pen & Ink…But wait.. There's more
There are two ways you can go with this one. 1. My new alcohol inks. (YAY!) But there is one issue if you choose these… the drawing….. This would be executed on Yupo paper. 2. White watercolor paper with minimal watercolor and just enough detail drawing then it starts to fade off. Creating a sort of disappearing act with the composition Separately these two ideas ask for two different sets of things.

8 The Minimalist.. pen & ink

9 Illustration This is the one time I will ask you to draw cartoony and use markers. You can come up with a type of wrapping paper type look… OR.. Come up with an illustrated fine art piece. Both would be on Multi-Media paper. Most likely you would use markers to color. But it is possible for it to be watercolor or another media. I am looking for a strong concept, high skill in drawing, clean lines and paper, and high level of craftsmanship with your composition and exicution.

10 Ode To Illustration

11 Art Genera This showcases examples of Surrealism, but another type of era is also acceptable. The point is that you use that art genera as your springboard for ideas…. Color palettes… Rules….etc. I am looking for a very strong concept and composition. Skill is obviously a must, but concept and composition is huge. This should be medium – large scale and any medium is available to you.
