I can write to explain something. I can introduce a topic and organize my ideas to make connections. I choose relevant facts, details, quotes, and examples when writing.

6. Reading Literature
Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

7. Translations
I can prove that what I think about a story is right by backing it up with specific details from the story.

8. Speaking & Listening
Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions with diverse partners on grade 9 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas an expressing their own clearly and persuasively.
