4 The Purpose of the Prayer
of the Apostle Paul Ephesians 1:17 To know God better!

5 Knowing God better has a plan behind it.

6 “that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:18b.

7 vision; hence to perceive.
“know” – recognizing what has entered your vision; hence to perceive. Seeing is one thing. Recognizing what you see is another.

8 The intention to recognize what is already in our field of vision.
The intention of this prayer to know God better is to recognize and understand what we see. The intention to recognize what is already in our field of vision.

9 “that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:18b.

10 “hope” – an expectation of something that is certain.

11 “calling” – a call, an invitation An invitation to something special
Begins with but does not end with the call to salvation.

13 “that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:18b.

14 “inheritance” – an apportionment, a portion given.
Living in the Father’s House is truly gloriously rich!

15 “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” Ephesians 1:19.

16 “exceeding” – something thrown beyond the
point of reception. Greatness that is more than what’s necessary.

17 “ability” – capability or capacity to do something
Ability is the means to accomplish something.

18 “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” Ephesians 1:19.

19 Trust in Jesus not only as Savior but as the Stone of Function.

20 “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” Ephesians 1:19.

21 What is the operation of God that has showcased how
mighty His strength is? The Resurrection of Jesus.

22 Do you recognize this Who?
The “what” is a Who Do you recognize this Who? Savior? Lord?
