2 CN Tower One of the World’s tallest freestanding structures (1815 ft.)
Built to: solve telecommunications problems in 1970’s Prove strength of Canadian industry Major tourist destination In the 1960’s construction was booming in Toronto. The new buildings caused serious communication problems. This new 1815 foot antenna solved these problems. Today people in the Toronto area have some of the clearest reception in North America. Took 40 months of around the clock construction.

The last thing to be added to the Tower was the 225 foot steel broadcasting antenna, consisting of 44 pieces- the heaviest weighing 8 tons. Olga is a Russian 10 ton Sikorsky helicopter. The first attempt was almost tragic. The work was complete in 1975.

The glass is 2 ½ inches thick. You are looking 1,122 feet straight down. It can actually withstand the weight of 14 large hippos.

10 360 Restaurant 1000 feet off the ground. You can view the entire city from your seat. The restaurant revolves once every 72 hours.

14 SkyDome- Open The SkyDome is the home of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. It was the first domed stadium built with a roof that opens and closes.
