Students will use a social media site to respond to a critical thinking question. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. You will create a temporary Facebook account. (This will be completed in pre-set cooperative grouping.) You will accept an invitation to Facebook for the “Fish Cheeks” critical thinking activity. You will respond to the question using a constructed response and citing textual evidence. You will respond to group members providing feedback and posting comments to peer posts and responses. This task uses: Common Core/NG Standard(s): 7.RL.1 -Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. 7.SL.1 -Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher led) with diverse partners on grade 7 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly.
