Design The Water Distribution Network For Raba Village Prepared By: Khalid Said Qassarwi, Osama Isam Qubbaj. Supervised by: . Dr. Anan Jayyousi 2011

2 The Objective of the Project:
1-The main objective of this project is to design the water distribution network for Raba Village with the aid of EPANET. 2- Solve the problem that occurs for purchasing water by tanks. 3- Reduce cost and effort.

3 Study Area - Raba is located 12 km to South east of the city of Jenin in the northern part of west Bank. - Raba is hilly village elevated about 500 m above mean sea level. - The area of Raba is about 25,642 Dunums. - Topographically, the village is a level area. - Raba has a population of about 3,750 inhabitants.

4 Location of Raba: Qaryut

7 Area before partition:

8 Area after partition:

9 Existing Water demand:
Population = 3,750 capita. Area = 25,642 Dunums. Density of the Population = 2.5 C/dunums. Consumption = 75L/C.d UFW = 25%. (assumption).

10 Future water demand: Growth rate (r) = 3%. Design Period = 30 years.
Future Population =9,100 Capita. Water Consumption (according WHO)= 100 L /C.d

11 Future water demand: UFW: 15%. Future Demand =118L /C.d
Demand factor = 2.9 Used Hazen-Williams equation. Hazen-Williams factor (C) = 120.

12 Design Criteria: Head pressure should be not more than 100 m, and not less than 20m. Maximum velocity should not be greater than 3m/sec, and minimum velocity should not be less than 0.1m/sec.

13 The Results: - The first result is high pressure, and low velocity.
- from the above result ,we conclude that the diameter is over sizing, and it should be reduced. -The pipes were reduced from 6` ,4` ,3` to 4` ,3`, 2` respectively. - Some pipes reduced from 2` to 1`. The results is acceptable is acceptable the design criteria, and these result as the following: The Pressure: All the pressure in the pipes is acceptable .which range between ( m). - The velocity: Most of the velocities are within range, but some nodes in the end of the network are low(0.06m/s), but in general the velocity is acceptable.

14 The results after modified:
The results is acceptable the design criteria, and these result as the following: The Pressure: All the pressure in the pipes is acceptable .which range between ( m). - The velocity: Most of the velocities are within range, but some nodes in the end of the network are low(0.06m/s), but in general the velocity is acceptable.

18 Information about the project
The pumping is continuous. The project period is one year. The water is distributed by the gravity. The reservoir capacity is 500m3. The project is near completion, and will start in house connections.
