“Love” is used 361 times in NKJV.
Human beings have a hard time understanding real love.
Eros : sexual love, sexual passion.
Storge : familial love (Rom. 1:31; 2 Tim. 3:3; Rom. 12:10).
Phileo : affection for people or things (Jn. 11:3; Matt. 6:5).
Agape : seeks the best interests of others even when they are unlovable (Jn. 17:26; 3:16; 14:21; 13:34; 1 Thess. 3:12; 1 Jn. 4:8-9; Rom. 5:8; 1 Cor. 13:1-8).

Love rebuke
One who truly loves his
own soul loves one who rebukes him: Prov. 3:12; 9:8-9; 27:5
“You can’t handle the truth!” Prov. 15:32
There is a right way, and wrong way, to rebuke: Matt. 7:2-5; Eph. 4:15; Gal. 6:1-2
Those unwilling to rebuke neither love the souls of others or their own souls: Ezek. 33:7-9
If we love our own soul, how can we be angry with one who loves us enough to rebuke us? Gal. 4:16; Psa. 141:5

Forgives and forgets

A clear conscience is worth more than gold: 1 Tim. 1:5; Acts 23:1
The only way to a clear conscience is to confess our sins:
Private sin: 1 Jn. 1:9
Public sin: Jas. 5:16
When God forgives, He forgets: Heb. 8:12; 10:16-17

Do we “give him life” when we ignore sin or properly rebuke and encourage?!

When is love, love?
Not everything that is called
love is really love, at least as God defines it.
Listen to the adulteress in Proverbs 7:18.
Any “love” that acts in conflict with the truth is not really “love.” Ezek. 33:7-9; 1 Jn. 5:16-17
It is not “love” to allow sin to go unchallenged or unrebuked; to say nothing or do nothing. God holds us accountable! Ezek. 33:7-9
