Customers have to wait, they won’t like it Complaints increase Leave and go elsewhere Sales fall Reputation suffers Caused by: only 2 members of staff working at a time Shop is over two floors, difficult to manage Could be due to large numbers of customers

The shop is not always tidy in the morning
Creates a bad impression - looks cluttered and messy, not attractive to customers Hazardous to customers, could cause accidents and injuries Caused by: Lack of staffing - can’t do it all, not enough staff to cope with the workload Lack of motivation from staff… lack of commitment from the staff

The shop is too cluttered
Too much stock out on the shop floor Contributes to the messy shop, makes it difficult to keep it tidy Caused by: Poor management decisions - think they need to have everything on display to be able to sell it.

Breaking the law - working time directive Demotivating for staff - tired and unhappy Caused by: not having enough staff

There are always delays in being served
Hire more staff - both part time and full time Extending opening hours so need to employ more staff to cope with this Allocate areas/section to different teams of staff Give walkie talkies to staff members so it is easier for them to communicate so staff can move to the areas they are most needed Improve reputation - more sales made, more people leaving with bags etc Use new technology to take payment on the shop floor rather than at the till

The shop is not always tidy in the morning
Offer overtime/incentives for staff to stay late or get in early to make sure the shop is tidy - if more staff are employed it will be easier to keep the shop tidy anyway Incorporate it into the duties of staff as part of their working day Looks more attractive, creates a good impression, easier to find what you are looking for, easier to spot if customers are trying to shop lift Prevent accidents from happening, prevent damage to stock from happening

The shop is too cluttered
Reorganise the layout of the shop Only display in certain sizes - customer can ask if they want to buy one Streamline what they sell - currently sell martial arts, swimming, rugby, football, trainers etc Could specific areas for different sports, use signage to direct customers to key areas Combine the weapons lockable display with the cash desk Impact - easier to see, less theft, easier to keep tidy, improves image etc
