A CITP is a CPA: Credentialed by the AICPA Recognized for the unique ability to provide business insight by leveraging knowledge of information relationships and supporting technologies Specializing and demonstrating specific skills, expertise and experience in the following areas: IT Assurance IT Risk Data Analytics Security & Privacy Business Solutions Emerging IT Trends

3 Who is a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP)?
CITPs in Business & Industry: Develop and maintain information governance policies and programs, perform data analytics, provide insight for business decisions, and supports financial reporting system implementation CITPs in Public Practice: Evaluate the impact of technology risks and the related controls on financial statement audits. Assess technology risk and information management, support system implementations, and evaluate security and privacy programs

5 CITP Credential Requirements
Maintain an AICPA membership in good standing Hold a valid and unrevoked CPA certificate or license issued by a legally constituted state authority Pass the CITP examination A CPA license is not a requirement to sit for the CITP exam A CPA license is required to become a CITP credential holder Meet minimum education requirement 75 hours of CITP related education within the five-year period preceding the date of the CITP application Meet minimum business experience requirement 1,000 hours of CITP related business experience within the five-year period preceding the date of the CITP application; or Full-time professor and have taught at least four accredited college courses, with 50% of the material included in the CITP body of knowledge

6 Exam Requirement The CITP Exam is a four-hour computer based exam comprised of 160 multiple-choice questions Questions are discrete and consist of a stem that includes factual data and provides four answer options Grading - Each exam is carefully graded by our team of psychometricians to ensure that the questions are statistically valid

7 CITP Experience & Education Requirements
Minimum of 1,000 hours* of CITP-related business experience For candidates in academia, a qualified credential holder would be a full-time professor and have taught at least four accredited college courses, with 50% of the material included in the CITP body of knowledge EDUCATION A CITP credential candidate must have a minimum of 75 hours* of continuing professional development (CPD) within the CITP Body of Knowledge Eligible categories of CPD include: Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Approved Courses at an Accredited College or University Presenting Authoring Unstructured Learning * All experience and education hours must have been obtained within the 5-year period preceding the date of the credential application.
