When you are signing –in to a workstation that is connected to the UBC network, it will connect automatically

8 Signing-In Non-ead joined
For Non-ead joined workstation- error indicating that Skype for Business failed to log you Log-in screen will change and ask for username Enter your Username with format EAD\and your CWL Enter password If there are still problems, just contact your IT, or IT Helpdesk for support.

Scenario: It is my first time logging-in to Skype For Business and I want to customize my Profile and Presence Putting a Photo Set your Status and Location Presence Reset Status Summary document – resource site We will now begin the demo using the Skype for Business Client with different scenarios and common questions users are having For Interface and Presence Read scenario: It is my first time logging-in to Skype for Business and I want to customize my profile Log-in with sign-in address as Available Change photo (Explain how to change photo through public URL) Change status (ex. 1st time logging to Skype), location (Brock Hall). Focus on presence being changed automatically (From Available to Presenting when logging, mention integration with Outlook and “Reset Status”) Show Presence document and mention this is in Resource site

Scenario: Be able to quickly know the availability and contact people I regularly work with Finding a person - Syncs with GAL Contacts List – Empty on first sign-in Groups Privacy Relationships Read next Scenario: Be able to quickly know the availability and contact people I regularly work with Sign-in, empty contacts list Search a contact [Marshall / Rosario]. Point out the Skype For Business syncs with the Global Address list so you can find anybody even people who are not provisioned (Presence Unknown) Mention that 1st sign-in you will not be able to find anybody as synching with GAL takes a few hours Right Click on Marshall / Rosario and say that it is possible to IM, call, video call Suppose I want to talk to Marshall / Rosario again, I would need to perform another search. A better way is to add Marshall / Rosario to my contacts list Contact List Adding the person to your contacts list is helpful especially if you are always collaborating or working with that person Add Marshall / Rosario to my Favorites in my Contact list as these are default groups. Groups – Groups help to organize your contacts and also provide a way to communicate with all the members of the group at the same time Create a new group Drag Marshall / Rosario from Favorites to this new group and add a user (from audience) [Show Send IM, Send and Send Meeting] Explain privacy relationships. Right click on name and show the different privacy relationships Close the IM window

Scenario: I want to send a message and do screen sharing IM Send text, link, file, add a person, convert to call Saved in Inbox – Conversation History Present / Share Content– Share your desktop Give Control – helpful for troubleshooting Program / Share a Window I will now give you 2 scenarios to highlight the sharing and collaboration features of Skype For Business Read Scenario: I want to send a message and do screen sharing IM Marshall / Rosario Say you can IM, send a link, file Conversations are stored in Outlook Inbox – Conversation History Easy to add another person (if possible from the audience) in the conversation Present – demo present desktop and give control [either with Marshall/Rosario or audience] Present desktop and Give control is helpful for troubleshooting Use Present Programs if you only want to show a particular document or even application on your machine

Scenario: I want to do an online presentation using Skype for Business Present a PowerPoint presentation Share a Whiteboard Poll, Q&A Manage Presentable Content Presenter vs Attendees Recording and playback - meeting Skype for business offers more than just instant messaging. It has features wherein you can also do a meeting and do a presentation. I will first show you the different presentation tools you can use then later I will show you how to create a Skype for Business meeting. Read Scenario: I want to do a presentation using Skype Ask for volunteers Do Video call Marshall / Rosario and 2 more users from audience with laptops Mention Video will give preview Do Present PowerPoint, Whiteboard, Poll, Q & A Mention Recording feature Best practice – Do ahead of time and just “Manage Presentable Content”

Scenario: I am organizing a Skype for Business meeting with people from different locations (building, campus), some of them aren’t provisioned with Skype for Business yet. Schedule a Skype for Business Meeting Joining a Skype Meeting Outlook/Client Phone Skype for Business Web Application Set meeting options Read Scenario: I am organizing a Skype for Business meeting with people from different locations, some of them aren’t provisioned with Skype for Business yet Show how to create a Skype For business meeting from Outlook, send to Marshall /Rosario Marshall / Rosario will join meeting by clicking on the link, UBC on-boarded users Meeting participants can join by phone if they don’t have their laptop or computer with them People in UBC who are not provisioned can still join as a guest via Web App (Show Web app), or even attendees from external companies Explain meeting options
