1 Thursday 5/18/17 Notebook Entry: In 2006 scientists from around the world met and voted on whether or not Pluto should be considered a planet (see pictures to the right) Why do you think they chose this as the process to make the decision?

2 Patterns in the Data: Questions to ask yourself
Are there certain groups with similar characteristics?  Does there seem to be a link or connection between the sets of data we collected?  How I can clearly describe the pattern I see so that someone else not looking at the data can understand the pattern?

3 Take turns in your new group sharing the patterns.
Make sure you clearly tell the group which scale properties you researched and what pattern you identified for each property Planet Data Meetings You are responsible for recording on the back of your data sheet the pattern for each scale property.

4 Review the patterns that you heard in the group
Review the patterns that you heard in the group. Pick one that you find most suprising and describe it on the notecard. Also tell me why you find it surprising? Exit Ticket
