1. THE RULES……..
1.) Make sure that your article/event took place in the country/region that we are currently studying. You have a list/map – please use it.
2.) Articles must be at least 5 paragraphs long. Your article can be as long as you would like but you DON’T need to have a 15 page article either.
3.) Make sure that you understand what your article / event is about. If you don’t understand it – CHOOSE another article.
4.) Articles can be cut from any newspaper or found on-line (on an On-line “NEWS” web-site: BBC.com). There are several on-line news websites that have been book marked on the Pack Wiki – Social Studies- Current Events
5.) The PRINTED (or cut out) article MUST BE brought to class with your completed summary in order to get FULL credit.
6.) The event must be CURRENT – it can NOT take place more than 2 wk before YOUR due date.
7.) The event must take place in that (ONE) country – the country CANNOT just be mentioned in the article. EX: The U.S. is doing a trade deal with N. Korea.
8.) When completing your written summary - you must attempt to have 7 words (you are 7th graders) in every sentence.
***Students NOT abiding by “THE RULES” may be asked to Re-DO the assignment.
