Presentation on theme: "Curves in Perspectives"— Presentation transcript:

1 Curves in Perspectives
Department of Technological Education Curves in Perspectives The drawing shows a corner of a garden with a garden shed in position. Draw the remainder of the wall showing the curved arch in the appropriate position.

2 Finding Height Line and Heights
Department of Technological Education Finding Height Line and Heights Start by dividing the curve into 30o parts on the Elevation and also on the Plan. Find the height line for the wall. Transfer the heights from the arch on the Elevation onto the newly found height line.

3 Finding First Point on Curve
Department of Technological Education Finding First Point on Curve Start by projecting a point from the SP, through one of the outside points of the curve, up to the ground line. Use the points on the visible side of the wall at this stage. Project this line vertically up. Project a line from VP2 through the appropriate height point towards the vertical line and add a small dot where the two lines cross.

4 Finding Second Point on Curve
Department of Technological Education Finding Second Point on Curve Proceed in the same way through the next point of the curve.

5 Finding Other Points on Curve
Department of Technological Education Finding Other Points on Curve Continue this process until all the points on the curve have been found for the visible side of the wall.

6 Drawing Front Arch Department of Technological Education
Combine each of the points using a smooth curve. Complete the bottom part of the archway.

7 Constructing Back Arch
Department of Technological Education Constructing Back Arch Project lines from each of the points of the front arch to VP1. Be selective when doing this. Only the part of the wall that will be visible needs to be done. Using the front, outside edge of the wall, project back to find the thickness of the arch at ground level. Using the same techniques as before project through each of the required arch points on the plan to find their positions on the perspective view.

8 Completing Arch Department of Technological Education
Darken in the final part of the archway to complete the drawing.

9 The Final Drawing Department of Technological Education
The final drawing should look like this.
