2. Current LTSEC Auction Timetable
Invitation issued 28 days prior to first annual invitation date
LTSEC Auction is completed between 01st September and 30th September
Allocations confirmed to Users 2 months after last annual invitation date.
Original Timetable established because
Avoidance of peak holiday months (July / August)
Sufficient period between AMSEC and LTSEC auctions

3. Reasons for potential change
Investment lead time
From November 3 year lead time allows investment from January onwards (IECR allows investment in less than 3 years)
Earlier auction would allow:-
Three year lead time for investment for the whole of the winter period
Would allow greater lead time for investment in the peak January – March period
Better fit with investment planning process

4. Proposal
LTSEC Auction to be completed between 01st June and 30th June.
Aligns with TBE process (published in May)
Avoids peak holiday months
Transition for 1st year
If approved LTSEC auction would run as soon as practical
Proposal would better facilitate the efficient and economic operation of the pipeline system
