Winning The Money Game Put the rule of 72 to work for you!
You can determine what kind of savings plan works best for you and your budget by using the The Rule of 72.3 Divide 72 by the interest rate to estimate the number of years it takes for your money to double. Age 4% 6% 8% Age 12% money doubles every 18 years money doubles every 12 years money doubles every 9 years money doubles every 6 years 29 $10,000 29 $10,000 47 $20,000 41 38 35 $20,000 65 $40,000 53 41 $40,000 $80,000 56 47 $80,000 $160,000 53 $160,000 59 $320,000 65 $640,000 Put the rule of 72 to work for you! 3 All figures are for illustrative purposes only and do not reflect an actual investment in any product. Additionally, they do not reflect the performance risks, expenses or charges associated with any actual investment. Past performance is not an indication of future performance. The Rule of 72 is a mathematical concept that approximates the number of years it will take to double the principal at a constant rate of return. The performance of investments flucuates over time and, as a result, the actual time it will take to an investment to double in value cannot be predicted with any certainty. Additionally, there are no guarantees that any investment or savings program can outpace inflation. 7

MORTGAGE INSURANCE: Not Always a Sure Thing
1. Group Policy The lender can change or cancel at their discretion. Personal Life Insurance 1. Individual Policy You own it and the rates are guaranteed. 2. Bank is the Beneficiary The benefit is paid directly to the lender. 2. You Choose the Beneficiary Your family chooses what to do with the benefit. 3. Decreasing Payout The amount of coverage decreases as you pay down your principle. 3. Fixed Payout Your payout will not decrease. 4. Tied to Your Mortgage If you re-finance or move you will likely have to requalify for insurance. 4. Separate From Mortgage If you move or re-finance your coverage is not affected. 5. Post-Claim Underwriting Usually underwritten at time of claim. Source: 5. Upfront Underwriting You will know upfront if you are covered. 8

Analyzing Cashflow Living Expenses Out of our cashflow we pay for living expenses, taxes and debt. We are told to put away 10%, but how many people are really doing that these days? 1 Taxes Debt Savings We work to free up cashflow through mortgage referrals, debt management, and possible tax savings. We then calculate your Financial Independance Number (FIN#) and put together a plan to help you achieve it. 2 FREE UP CASHFLOW As independent brokers we source out the best products to implement that plan. The best part is, the companies we use 3 pay us at no cost to the family. 4 4 Commission amount may vary on product type and size of purchase. Income is earned from sales of World Financial Group authorized products and services. No income is earned for recruiting. All compensation plans subject to change. Associates of World Financial Group are independant contractors regardless of field title / designation. 9

Basic Financial Concepts
HOME RESPs RRSPs NON-REG TFSA INSURANCE Protection Lower Cost Tax Shelter gov’t grants Get Working Harder Contribution Limit % Debt Alternative Full Tax Half Tax No Tax No Tax HOME RESPs RRSPs We can refer people to mortgage specialists to possibly get a lower rate and consolidate debts. We help families save for their child’s education and get available grants from the government. We look at different options to get them working harder. The benefit is you get a tax deduction upfront, but the downside is the full tax when you take the money out. When set up properly, you can pay half the tax on the way out. In retirement, would you want to pay full tax or half tax? This is an investment strategy people can use to build a tax free retirement. We make sure a family is properly protected, and if they qualify, set up an Insured Retirement Plan. NON-REG TFSA INSURANCE Do you think people are taking advantage of ALL of the concepts and strategies available? What we can do at the end, is gather some information and put a plan together to show you how these concepts and strategies could work in your situation. Does that make sense? 10
