Children at Castlemilk Day Nursery have opportunity to develop transferable skills across all curriculum areas. These skills can be developed by all children where ever they are learning. 10 What skills do you think we need to do our job?
It was important to support children’s understanding of why the skills they are learning are so important for life of work. At Castlemilk Day Nursery we thought we would start with ourselves and our job role when looking at “working in partnership”. Partners have an important role in helping to develop children’s skills. We asked children: What skills do you think we need to do our job? Then we showed them photographs of skills we have been learning to support our job role.

11 This is Castlemilk Day Nursery staff In-service training day.
I have had the opportunity to find out about jobs in my community (Nursery) and I am beginning to understand the idea of a job, why people work and what they like about their job. This is Castlemilk Day Nursery staff In-service training day. Staff learned skills needed to deliver high quality learning experiences to children outdoors.

13 I believe I can do any job.
I begin to realise that people have different talents which they can use in the world of work. I believe I can do any job.
