2. 0564R ..’must read’ site visit trial
A National Grid plan to extend the current ‘must read’ process covering Annual Read Meters was articulated at Distribution Workgroup on 28th Jan 16
Currently circa 26,000 Supply Meters remain unread for between 3 and 4 years
A further 26,000 Supply Meters remain unread for more than 4 years
In response to concerns received National Grid will carry out a ‘must read’ trial of 100 properties which have not received a valid meter read for 3 to 4 years
Will test the assertion that this population will prove difficult to procure reads
The trial sample was collated at random
Trial costs will be borne by National Grid
G4S are in possession of the 100 sites to be visited and are awaiting our signal to proceed
G4S will carry out the visits as per current ‘must read’ process – up to 3 visits
Visits expected to take place during March/April
Notification to Shippers of the properties to be visited will not be provided
Warrants will not be sought where no access is identified
An update will be provided to Distribution Workgroup on next steps once the trial results are collated
