The greater the area that weight is distributed the lower the pressure.

4 How can we tell the difference between force and pressure?

5 Pressure = Force / Area Pressure is equal to the force exerted on a service divided by the total area over which the force is exerted

The unit of pressure is N/M2 Or called pascal (Pa) 1 N/M2 = 1 Pa

7 Try this… A solid block of wood has a square base 1m X 1m and weighs 5,000 N. How much pressure does it excerpt on the floor underneath.
