5 Coaching premise People ask how they can do what you do
People ask if you can help them reach their dreams or keep their promises, i.e. , realize their potential People asked for advice, but did not take notes Principle of the slight edge – incremental change Develop an action guide, blue print

6 Pre-Coaching Form Who are you? What is important to you?
What are your dreams? How badly do you want to achieve them? How do you feel about yourself? What changes would you like to make? How do you use your time?

7 Pre – coaching form How do you keep up with matters requiring your attention? Who do you listen to? What qualities do you look for in a coach or a mentor? Who wants you to succeed? When do you do your best thinking?

12 KNOW A data and information gathering exercise
Research each individual, situation or problem from all angles Who, What, When Where, Why & How Know versus Need to Know Current State versus Desired Outcome

13 KNOW Goals: What do you want out of life, career, family, personally?
What are you willing to risk to reach your goal? Conduct a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats? How do we know this to be true? What do you know about yourself? JoHari Window – look upon online or in my book Unlock Your Leadership Greatness What motivates you?

14 NOW What are you doing now? Are your priorities in order? Are you doing the most important? Are they in line with your objectives? Are your actions the appropriate actions for each moment and situation? What can be done now, later or never? What is the current state?

15 NO There are things you should say no to?
There are distractions and lower priorities that want your time No = Not Now – a matter of timing You can’t be all things for all people. Your No should mean No and your yes should mean yes. The growth occurs when challenged. Iron sharpens iron. The sale begins when the customer says No Sometimes No is “an” answer, not “the” answer Where have you complicated things by saying yes when you should have said No? Where are we honoring or not honoring our word?

16 WON A vision of success and the goal The value of winning
Everyone loves a winner Winning builds confidence – energizes – builds self - esteem Win / Win objective Expand the Winner’s Circle Help others win

17 OK If you are only OK, what is the reason?
OK, like good, according to Jim Collins is the enemy of excellence Maybe you are not committed, your heart isn’t in it and you need to make a change You deserve more, to be fulfilled You deserve to be fully activated, to be ON OK is only suitable as a checklist

18 ON What are your hot buttons? What turns you on and excites you?
You owe it to yourself to be on fire, on message, on guard, on point and on target? You are better, more energized when you are on? When you are on, in a zone, giving your best, you are explosive and loving it. Where are you on target with your thoughts, actions, and positions? Which customer do you want to please, key problems to solve and questions to answer? Are there gaps in your consistency or interruption of service?

19 OWN Whatever you do, you have to own it Willingness to do the work
Priority poem When you own something you have a different perspective, a different level of commitment With ownership comes accountability

20 WOK Occasionally, stir things up, disruption, muscle confusion & comfort zone Challenge the status quo Revisit often and update as needed Is it still working for you? Could you benefit from new information, ideas and technology? Because you have always done it that way does not mean it has to stay that way

21 WONK 2 definitions Difficult to deal with person
Someone too narrow in their focus – value and peril of specialization

22 OW Natural discomfort from growth, change or something new
Pain associated with doing the thing wrong (technique) or doing the wrong thing (selection) Pain points, pain tolerance and threshold Things did not go as planned – set-back
