1 How are living things organized in biology?

2 There are 10 levels of Organization 5 of those 10 are how multicellular organisms are organized

3 6. Organisms / Individuals 7. Population 8. Community 9. Ecosystem
1. Molecules 2.Cells 3. Tissues 4. Organs 5. Organ Systems 6. Organisms / Individuals 7. Population 8. Community 9. Ecosystem 10. Biosphere Cells  Organism The levels of a multicellular organism

4 Groups of atoms; smallest unit of most chemical compounds
Molecules Groups of atoms; smallest unit of most chemical compounds

5 the CELL The cell is the basic unit of structure and function of a living thing. Cells are specialized by size and shape for the job they do The amoeba above is made of only one cell and it must perform all the jobs of the organism.

6 T I S S U E S are made of the same type of cells grouped together to do a specific job

7 Organs Organs are made up of different tissues that work together to do a job.

8 Organ Systems An organ system is a group of organs working together.

9 Turn to your shoulder partner!
First person name an organ then your partner tries to name the organ system it belongs to! 2. The partner with the lighter hair go first!

10 Organisms/Individuals/ Species
-Sum of all cells, tissues, organs and organ systems makes an organism. - Individual living thing

11 Population A group of the same type of organisms all living together in the same place.

12 Groups of Populations that live together in the same area.
Community Groups of Populations that live together in the same area.

13 Community and its NONLIVING/ABIOTIC surroundings.
Ecosystem

14 All the ecosystems around the world make up the biosphere.
