3 Fig 2 A 53-year-old man with distal esophageal adenocarcinoma treated with right transthoracic (Ivor-Lewis) esophagectomy presented for follow-up 6 months after surgery. (A) Axial computed tomography chest scan shows a small diaphragmatic hernia containing colon (arrow), but that was not reported. (B) Axial computed tomography chest scan performed at 12 months after surgery shows that the hernia (arrow) has significantly increased in size, and this was reported. Although the patient was asymptomatic, an elective repair was performed owing to the significant increase in size in such a relatively short time.
