Mash – strength Kikiwan – earth Means strength that comes from earth Creator gifts medicines in many ways Taught to pick only what’s needed and mature Tobacco offered prior to medicine gatherings Not to be sold

4 Natural Resources Four sacred medicines Sage Cedar Sweetgrass Tobacco
used for smudging, has mental and physical healing properties Cedar used for smudging, can be boiled for healing teas Sweetgrass used in peace and healing rituals leaves dried, made into braids, burned as incense also boiled for cleansing water or medicinal tea Tobacco used for offering and prayers Main use is pipe ceremonies offered when other medicine is picked Used for healing
