2 The Son Has Declared Him
John 1:18

3 The Nature Of God God is Spirit
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (Jn. 4:24) He is not a man (Num. 23:19) Modernists claim God is created in man’s image Bible says otherwise (Gen. 1:26) Unfortunately, certain language lends to a mistaken idea of a human-like nature for God

4 Anthropomorphism “The ascription of human form or characteristics to a deity, or to any being or thing not human” (F&W) Examples in common usage The face of a cliff The foot of a tree The heart of the earth The eye of a storm

5 The assignment of human characteristics to God
Face (Isa. 59:2) Hand (1 Sam. 5:11) Mouth (1 Kgs. 8:15) Feet (Isa. 60:13)

6 Appearances Of God Impossible for man to see God (Ex. 33:12-23)
What about Exodus 24:9-11? Paul’s writings (Col. 1:15; 1 Tim. 6:16) Why not allowed to see God? (see Deut. 4:15-18)

7 The Son Has Declared Him
To see Jesus was to see the Father (Jn. 14:9) To hear Him is to hear the Father (Heb. 1:2) Jesus tells us: God loves us (Jn. 16:27) God knows what we need (Matt. 6:8, 32) God blesses those who will believe (Jn. 20:29) We must do His will (Matt. 7:21)
