Who is in the Room? Please introduce yourself as you answer these two questions. 1) When the governor’s office called to offer you a position on the state board of education, what was the deciding factor to say “yes”? 2)What one question do you want answered by the end of our session today?

3 Mission The National Association of State Boards of Education exists to serve and strengthen State Boards of Education in their pursuit of high levels of academic achievement for all students.

30 Leading with Learning Standards
Aligning policies to standards leads to effective strategic planning and decision making firmly focused on student learning. But the hub never changes – it is always about the standards. Hence, it is always about the learning.
