Be used as studies or workshops for new ecclesias or brothers and sisters
Encourage consideration of how the truth can be lived in different cultures and circumstances
A basis for further study and discussion – each presentation has suggestions for further discussion either in groups or topics that could be presented as short presentations by those attending.

3. Why look at the first century ecclesia?
Their beliefs and practices came directly from Christ and the apostles
They can be an example for us today
For the first time the gospel was taught widely amongst many different cultures and languages

The book of Acts
The Apostle Paul's writings
The writings of Peter, John and Jude

5. What is an ecclesia? From a Greek word meaning “to call out.”
The focus is on the believers who have been called out and their beliefs.
Often used in place of the word “church” as the focus should not be on the building, and emphasises our unique beliefs and practices which set us apart from mainstream Christianity
