Reception: Summer One Overview
Welcome back to a new term where we will be learning about the growth of plants and animals. Reception will be learning the stories ‘The Tiny Seed’ and ‘Eddie’s Garden’ focusing once again on developing their speaking and listening skills. By this stage in the year, children will be writing extended pieces of work inspired by the story, characters and the class innovation. A visit to the farm will bring the characters to life as children get hands-on experiences and observations of the growth of different animals and plants.

Over the year, children will continue to develop their mathematical skills and knowledge through Maths Mastery. Alongside this, the children will apply their maths skills across the curriculum, for example comparing the size of animal homes and comparing weights of fruits.
