Our Learning Focus
Important Information
** Polar Express Day is Friday! Remind your 1st grader to wear pajamas (regular shoes please) and they can also bring a stuffed animal! We will enjoy hot cocoa, popcorn, & a movie with our friends!
Theme: Christmas & Polar Express
Math: comparing bigger numbers, equivalence with true/false equations, and extending the counting sequence
Phonics: Glued Sounds – ank, ink, unk, onk
Reading Focus: Retelling stories with
key details & identifying the central message/ lesson
Writing Focus: Writing narratives that recount 2 or more appropriately sequenced events with details, temporal words, & a sense of closure
Speaking/Language: expressing ideas and feelings clearly; describing with relevant detail
Science: Our new unit on the Earth, Moon, and Sun will start in January!

** We are continuing with Fun Friday every week to celebrate having our work completely correctly and on time! If you are cleaning out over the holidays and notice any extra legos, play doh, puzzles, building supplies, k’nex, etc., we’d love to add it to our classroom collection!
