2 Introduction Intelli-FLEX™
Cable-type intrusion detection sensor (Fence Mounted) outdoor and interior applications Provides an alarm if an intruder attempts to climb over the fence attempts to cut through the fence attempts to lift the fence fabric attempts to penetrate wall (indoor version) E-Flex II is a passive sensor. Sensitive coaxial cable is mounted directly on the fence line.

4 Vocabulary Glossary of terms Zone Sensor cable Non-sensitive cable
The area or sector that is being monitored. Sensor cable The proprietary coaxial transducer cable mounted on the fence. Non-sensitive cable RG59/u coaxial cable that connects the processor to the sensitive cable. Processor Outdoor mounted electronics required to analyze the sensor cable disturbance.

6 Theory of Operation Triboelectric Effect
Minute movement (flexing) of the cable will produce a transfer of charge between conductors in the passive sensor cable. This measurable signal is monitored at one end of up to 1000 feet (300 m) of cable

Continually evaluates electrical signals generated by the sensor cable, and converts the information to a digital format. Through “Adaptive Algorithms”, the processor will alarm if an intruders is trying to Cut the fence fabric. Climb the fence. Lift the fence fabric.

Installation Planning Perimeter of installation Perimeter structure Mounting the processors Monitoring and power wiring. Perimeter of installation How many gates, what is the distance, large openings. Perimeter structure What is the condition of the fence. Center of panel, should deflect 2-3 inches with 30 lb. pull. Mounting the processors Locate positions at least 15 feet away from the fence line. Monitoring and power wiring Must me run to each processor.

26 Preparing for Installation
Site Survey Should be conducted before installing any system hardware To ensure optimum performance... Mounting surface should be as stable as possible. Fences must be cleared of vegetation and any other objects that disturb the structure. A good earth ground should be achieved for the sensor processor. Earth ground is highly recommended. Note that if two different ground planes are present, nuisance alarms will occur.

Site Survey (continued) Fence condition is critical to the trouble-free and efficient operation of the Intelli-FLEX sensor. All fence framework should meet or exceed minimum specifications outlined in the installation manual.
