Framing - REVIEW Choose a connection point between two framing elements (i.e. rafter connection to tie beam) and: 1 - find a relevant OBC note; 2 – draw a detail sketch of the connection showing how the two pieces are held together; 3 - write a descriptive note that would explain to a contractor how to build it; 4 – hand in to your instructor. determine each of the slopes of your roofs and add it to your CAD drawing elevations. size each of your roof members, including your ridge board using the span table in the OBC determine what your roof edge detail will be and show your eaves show any overhangs / lookouts frame any openings, like dormers or skylights determine your sheathing size, span and layout
