4. HOPE PURIFIES I. HOPE ESTABLISHED: (3:1) Title: “Children of God”
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know (accept) us, because it did not know (accept) Him.
Title: “Children of God”
“Therefore” – Take note of the following statement.

5. HOPE PURIFIES II. HOPE EXPECTS (CHRIST RETURN): (3:2)
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Identification: (Being a child of God changes our identity.)
Inspiration: “we shall see Him as He is”
When He is Revealed….everything changes.

6. HOPE PURIFIES III. HOPE EXCEEDS: (3:3) Hope purifies
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Hope fixed on Jesus’ return
Hope purifies
Hope like this produces obedience in the Word of God…
